Shiloh (UNN) - In a stunning verdict, Ethan Shepherd, older brother of Gilboan hero David Shepherd, was found guilty of all charges against him, including high treason against the crown of Gilboa. Citing post traumatic stress and the service the defendant had given his country, King Silas Benjamin commuted the original sentence of death to 6 months hard labor and mental evaluation.
The trial took place over the course of the last week, with numerous witnesses testifying to the events of the insurrection of Port Prosperity, including Captain Shepherd. Shepard testified of his brother's commitment to family and justice and noted his gallant service in the Gath War. "In some ways," the Captain stated on the stand, "he's the reason I went into the Army. I wanted to be brave like him."
One witness who did not testify, however, was Princess Michelle Benjamin, who has been credited with stopping the uprising by bravely negotiating with the rebels.
The three judge tribunal handed down the harshest punishment possible, death. But the king intervened, stating "No good can come of good men dying", sentencing Ethan Shepherd to the lighter punishment instead.
